Wasn’t it just yesterday that you held that baby in your arms? Just as fast, your pre-teen or early teen will be walking out your door and into the world.

While there’s still time, take time out this summer with your entering 7th-9th grade son or daughter to build lasting memories during a fun-filled, purposeful week away from the distractions of the daily routine.

The Spalding summer staff will be on hand to make your week together a total blast, with camp classics and memorable, Dad/Teen Week special events. Shared challenges, big-time fun activities, and effective speakers like pastors Joe Wittwer, John Sowers and Kurt Bubna, plus engaging questions to encourage open communication…it all combines to build greater closeness with each other during this key season in your child’s life.

Plus! Wayne Rice (San Diego, CA) will be on hand for a two-part, dads-only seminar, Understanding Your Teenager. This outstanding seminar has been hugely helpful to parents across the country in providing a map to successfully guide their teens through the rough waters of adolescence.

It’s a week designed to make your dad-teen relationship be all that God intended!

Housing

Sons & Daughters:

Your child will stay in a cabin with one of our summer staff and up to nine other campers of the same gender.  Our carefully selected cabin counselors will guide them through cabin huddle discussions and encourage them in their relationship with you.  The friends your child will make with campers in his or her cabin, and the positive role model of the cabin counselor, will be a great plus to your child’s week!

Dads:
You have some housing choices.  The base rate gets you a twin bed, with linens, in our Ponderosa cabins.  Up to five men in a room with attached bathroom (two sinks, two toilets and two showers per bath).  These are nice rooms, completed in 2006.

If you prefer more privacy, you can either room with another dad in one of our lodge rooms (listed below as Lodge Double Occupancy), or if we have rooms available, stay in a single room (Lodge Single Occupancy).

Whatever your housing, all dads are encouraged to participate in nightly “huddles” (your son or daughter will be in a huddle with their cabin during this time).  These will be a great time to share with, encourage and learn from other dads about topics vital to your child-parent relationship.

Room Upgrade Rates:
Lodge Double Occupancy:     $100 additional per dad
Lodge Single Occupancy:       $175 additional per dad
