We’re getting ready for another summer of big fun and high impact for the students in your youth group. Every summer we see many, many students – away from the daily routine and surrounded by a staff excited about following Jesus – make significant, often life-changing decisions. And while getting a kid to camp can make a huge difference in his or her life – it’s nearly hassle free for you!

In fact, there is little else in your ministry that has such a high “payoff” for the effort it takes to get kids excited about camp – no program planning, no volunteer leaders to recruit, no facility arrangements – just you enthusiastically promoting an awesomely fun week! Here’s how you can help your students get excited about Camp Spalding this summer:

Consider attending with your students. The most effective way for you to recruit kids to camp is to go with them. The best way for you to follow-up on what God will do in your students’ lives at camp is to share the experience with them, and then take it home. Being a cabin counselor can be a powerful tool for life-changing ministry. No charge for you, and we’ll get you all the info you need in advance so you can hit the ground running that first day of camp! (Plus, free fresh-brewed Starbucks to keep you running all week long!).

Pick a session and promote it as you would your own event. You can let your students know about summer camp - but you and I both know - unless you promote the week as you would your own event, your kids are unlikely to attend if they haven’t been before. Brochures in their hands, regularly pumping it up, phone calls….you know the routine. Remember – big payoff in changed lives!

Gift Certificates! Okay, you probably agree with all of the above. But you’re still saying, “Come on. Get my attention.” So, to sweeten the pot…gift certificates at cool places like Old Navy and Eddie Bauer! Just call JP Phillips, associate director, at (800) 566-1155 x. 11, and find out how bringing kids to camp can keep you looking good!

We’re passionate about the value of this ministry, and are truly grateful for your partnership with us! Give JP Phillips a call if you are able to serve as a cabin counselor, if you’d like a copy of the promo DVD, or if you’d like to find out more about how you can make a high quality, big impact week at Camp Spalding a major part of your ministry to students this summer!
